Clik here to view.Nature provides so many benefits to us, particularly to soothe and calm our bodies and minds. We can also look around and see how nature is being destroyed as humans take and build more and more. Without a healthy environment, we all suffer. However, we can play an important role in protecting our environment by raising children who understand the link between their health and happiness, and a happy earth.
What if you could give a gift to your children that not only made them happy, but also helped protect the environment? I am thrilled to share some amazing gift ideas that will do just that.
4Ocean Bracelets
1.4 billion pounds of trash ends up in the ocean every year that can harm marine life and clutter our pristine beaches. 4Ocean is working to change that by organizing beach cleanups around the world. Their goal is to stop ocean pollution by removing trash from coastlines before it has a chance to end up in the ocean. By purchasing a 4Ocean bracelet, you will remove one pound of trash from the ocean.
Bracelets are made from 100 percent recycled materials. The beads are made from recycled glass bottles and the cord is made from recycled plastic water bottles. Every bracelet purchased funds the removal of one pound of trash from the ocean. My children love wearing their 4Ocean bracelets because it symbolizes a commitment to cleaner oceans. Your kids will love them, too!
The bracelets come in a variety of colors besides their basic blue to represent different causes: pink for breast cancer awareness, gray and white for shark conservation, green for Earth Day, and aqua for World Oceans Day. You can also become a clean ocean collector to receive a new bracelet every month. Now that’s a gift that keeps on giving all year long!

Anything From Patagonia
Patagonia is my new environmental hero. Recently when government officials announced that they were going to shrink land in some National Parks, this company stood up both from a legal and communications standpoint. If you go to their website, they have a statement that says “The President Stole Your Land: In an illegal move, the president just reduced the size of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. This is the largest elimination of protected land in American history.” They are also moving forward with a lawsuit in federal court seeking a judicial order to block this decision.
Patagonia has a long history of environmental and social responsibility. The company’s mission statement is: “Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.” They promote fair labor practices and safe working conditions throughout the supply chain, and do their best to ensure that all chemicals, dyes, and finishes are managed and that resource consumption is reduced.
They also have a product recycling program in which they encourage customers to send back their used garments to the company to be recycled or repurposed. If you choose to recycle, you’ll gain the satisfaction of knowing that your old Patagonia clothing will not end up in a landfill or an incinerator.
Your kids will love to stay warm and cozy in some Patagonia gear.
